Organiser's Description

The 5k is an achievable distance and a good first challenge for most people. At just over 3 miles it can take about an hour to walk on average, but there's no pressure to finish in a certain time. Go at your own pace to help fund life-saving cancer research.

How to Get There

Arriving by Car : Follow signs for Haigh Hall , not Haigh Country Park. Follow the B5239, Haigh Road until you reach the Balcarres Arms (1 Copperas Lane, WN2 1PA) here you will need to follow the road to the left hand side of the pub named Copperas Lane, follow the road for 2 miles until you reach Haigh Hall Car Park (this is the second car park on your left)



Car parking is at a cost of £3 and can be paid using cash or card.



From Wigan, there are buses to Wigan Road and it's a short 5 min walk down the canal to the Park.

Further Information

Due to the terrain of the course, and the incline on the route we have deemedthis event not suitable for wheelchair users.Please read the course information section regarding the terrain and uphill sections to decide whether you feel this is a suitable course for you.

The event site, start and finish are all located in front of Haigh Hall .

We are delighted to welcome spectators to Race for Life so please do bring your family and friends along to cheer you on and support you on the day.



If you feel you might need extra help at the event please do pick up a special badge at the Blue Enquires Marquee so that our crew and volunteers can look out for you.

Spectating:The event site is in front of Haigh Hall on an area of this is on hard standing, flat, tarmacked ground with some fine gravel.The journey from the car park to the event site is downhill on a tarmac path
