More about the Pendine Sands Races:
Race starts for 2026 are dependant on the Tide Tables.
A pre-race email will be out last week in March.
The Pendine Sands 5k & 10k and Half Marathon are all on the beach.
You may think that running on the sand will be extremely difficult, but at Pendine the sands are home to the land speed record attempts made famous by the Blue Bird car. This means that generally the sand underfoot is quite firm and absolutely perfect for running on, especially for barefoot running.
Race Overview:
The Pendine Sands Races include options for 5k, 10k, Half Marathon and a Full Marathon:
All of these races are Cup-Free, so please bring your own re-useable cup (available in our store).
Half Marathon details:
The Half Marathon consists of a short out and back then returning the full lengeth of the beach and then finally back to the start.
10km and 5km details:
An out and back along the beach, turning at a point where a race marshal holds a flag.
