Organiser's Description

Climb, crawl and slide your way around the Pretty Muddy® obstacle course at your own pace. 5k is just over 3 miles and can take about an hour to complete on average, but there's no pressure to finish in a certain time – it's all designed for fun! Get muddy as an individual or with a group of friends or family, act like a big kid and raise money for life-saving cancer research.

How to Get There

Parking is available free of charge for this event at The Knavesmire. Disabled parking spaces will also be available.



On the day signage will direct you the the event car park. Please avoid parking on residential roads surrounding the venue.



The nearest train station is York and the city centre is 1.5miles away. There is a regular bus service from the centre to the venue.

Due to the nature of the event it is not suitable for wheelchair users. If spectating, the event site, course route and car park are all mostly on grass, so those with accessibility issues may require assistance on the uneven surfaces. Please be aware that in wet weather ground conditions on the grassed areas can deteriorate quickly.



Disabled parking is available at the event car park on The Knavesmire.

Meeting Point Information

The meeting point and start line is on The Knavesmire, nearby The Racecourse. The finish line will also be within the similar vacinity.

Event Day Information

We are delighted to welcome spectators to Race for Life so please do bring your family and friends along to cheer you on and support you on the day.



Do to the nature of this event - no dogs are allowed.



If you feel you might need extra help at the event please do pick up a special badge at the Blue Enquires Marquee so that our crew and volunteers can look out for you.
