Organiser's Description

The Royal Windsor Triathlon is one of UK’s most legendary triathlons. It takes place in Windsor in Berkshire.

The first Royal Windsor Triathlon was created in 1991, and 32 editions later is now firmly established as one of the top events in the triathlon calendar. Few triathlons can compare with the historical backdrop of Windsor Castle, the majestic River Thames, the green vista of the Long Walk and the stunning overall surroundings of Windsor.

Awarded BTFs ‘Event of the Year’ a remarkable seven times, this prestigious triathlon has stood the test of time with its quality delivery, picturesque location and great event village atmosphere. The event continues to go from strength to strength selling out at it’s largest ever capacity in 2022. We love it, we hope you’ll love it too.

Course Details

All participants can expect a fantastic days racing. Starting with a swim through the River Thames where you'll emerge from the water back into the beautiful Alexandra Gardens in the shadow of Windsor Castle. You'll then head out on your bike to complete the bike course through the stunning Berkshire countryside. Note that is an open road event. Once you've completed your bike section of the race, you'll begin your run which leaves many in awe as you wrap round Windsor Castle and onto the long walk.

What's Included

Once you confirm and pay for your entry you will receive a confirmation email from us. In the lead up to the event we'll send you regular emails with latest updates, medal reveal and other important information.

Participants will need to leave their bike overnight in Alexandra Gardens, where 24 hour security will be on hand to keep watch. There are also a limited number of on-the-day racking places which are available for purchase. All participants will also be welcomed over the finish line with a refreshing can of Erdinger Alkoholfrei and SiS protein products to refuel.

Should you enter with our Golden Entry you can also expect some extras which include: event t-shirt, personalised medal insert with name and finish time, full set of event photos
discounted entry into Eton Sprints Weekend 2023 and if you select the Premium Entry you will receive all of the above plus our official water bottle and kit bag and a post event massage.

How to Get There

BY ROAD
Windsor is 30 miles west of London and is accessible via the major motorway networks: from M3 exit at Junction 3; from M4 exit at Junction 6; from M25 exit at Junction 13 and from M40 exit at Junction 4 or Junction 2.

BY TRAIN
Windsor is served by two train stations, Central and Riverside. Both are situated a few minutes walk from theEvent Village. First Great Western operates services from London Paddington, change at Slough onto the branch line that links with Windsor & Eton Central. South West Trains operate from London Waterloo to Windsor & Eton Riverside – journey time is approx. 55 minutes. Please check train times for the early Sunday start.

Parking

The competitor car park is located in Windsor Boys’ School, SL4 5EH, for both Saturday and Sunday. Car park opening times Saturday 10am to 6pm / Sunday 4:30am to 4pm. Please inform the parking attendants if you intend to leave your car in the car park overnight. NB: The carpark will be closed and locked up on both days. There will be NO access to remove your vehicle after the closing hours. There will be toilets in the carpark. Parking is £15 per car. Pay on entry on Saturday to cover both days. Sunday only will also cost £15. This cost goes directly to Windsor Boys’ School PTA to support their sports department. Please have exact money ready in cash to prevent queuing. The Event Village where you register and rack your bike is in Alexandra Gardens – approx. 5- 10 min walk. Please follow the signs along Arthur Road and Alma Road. There is no bag storage area at the triathlon, so please leave unwanted items in your car.
