Enjoy the special Bank Holiday atmosphere of this long-established and popular 10k. A gently undulating course on footpaths, quiet roads and streets with a fast downhill finish provides great opportunities for an early season PB. With Junior Cross Country Races at Langley Mead nearby, Shinfield is the ideal event for the whole family. Medals for all finishers.

Parking

Race parking, courtesy of the University of Reading is at Thames Valley Science Park. Although parking is free, we ask for a donation (cash only please) of £2 per vehicle.

  • Will it be possible to enter on the day?

    Subject to the race limit not being reached, on the day entries will be available up to 09.00 on May 5.

  • Is there any race parking?

    Race parking is at Thames Valley Science Park. Post Code RG6 1AD, what3words ///wake.hedge.hunter We ask for a charity donation of £2 per car.

  • How do I get to the Junior Races?

    The Junior Races are held at Langley Mead. To get there turn right out of the School Hall Car Park and continue before crossing Hyde End Road and entering Millworth Lane. Continue to the bottom of Millworth Lane before entering Langley Mead.

RACE RULES

Please note, there are no refunds in the event of race cancellation, or a runner withdrawing before the race for whatever reason. If you wish to transfer your number to another runner, please use the self-serve link, which is contained in your original booking confirmation email by the closing date of 1 May 2025.

Race numbers and timing chips will not be mailed out and must be collected from the registration desk in the hall in Shinfield Infant & Nursery School on the day by 09:00. Instructions for the day will be emailed to you once you have registered.

Strictly NO Personal Stereos/MP3 players/iPods or similar devices to be worn whilst running; this will result in disqualification.

ROAD CLOSURES

In accordance with the event’s road closure order issued by Wokingham Borough Council, between 09.20 and 09.40 on 5 May 2025, Hyde End Road will be closed to traffic between its junction with Hollow Lane/A327 and its junction with Appleton Way. Beke Avenue between its junction with Hollow Lane and Lidl will also be closed to traffic between 08.30am and 12.30pm.
