With a generous seven-hour cut-off for the 9am start and a five-hour cut-off for the 11am start, participants can run at their own pace and distance. This is the third year of the Windmill Way Wander, and it promises to be bigger and better than ever. Course Details

This route is all road. You will pass through the villages of Higham, Gazeley, Ashley, Dalham and Denham.

This event is called the Windmill Way Wander as you will see the windmill at Dalham. Prior to this if you look to the left, you will note some great views of Dalham Hall.

Whilst this is a road event, it does have rolling hills and an elevation of around 600ft.

Those doing under a half marathon distance will travel along an out and back, being turned around required, making it a very social route.

The half marathon will be one loop, 2 loops for the full marathon and then the run to the 5k turnaround point for an ultra.

What's Included

Upon entry you will receive an email confirmation from your entry portal and Zig Zag Running. This will also contain the link to the race briefing information pack.

We have designed a Bespoke medal for the event, which you will receive at the end of the race, if you choose the lucky dip finisher option (if available), you will choose from a selection of previous or finisher medal.

on the day

You will need to be at the venue around 30-45minutes before your start time which will give you enough time to collect your race number, receive the relevant race briefing and get ready to run.

The Race HQ/Base Camp is located at the start and Lap point and at the base camp we will have our water/aid station.

  • Please note the event has gone cupless - so please bring your own bottles or cups for refilling.

Wave Selection

It's a seven-hour cut off, (if you start at 9am, and 5hour event if you start at 11am).

Great event, with friendly staff helping along the way! If you don't mind a few hills then I'd recommend it! Plus great cake post race!

The race was very well run (pun intended). The route was well marked, there were nice treats at the end, and the medals are quite impressive. Highly recommended!

Friendly organisers. Route mostly well marked - one or two spots where it wasn't clear but just followed the runner ahead of me. There was an aid station at around the halfway point if needed. Route was quite scenic, all road but with very few cars as it turned out. A fair bit of elevation. We were well supplied with food and drink at the end. Nice medal.

Nice 1 loop course Challenging at times with 2 decent hills to contend with Super organisation Cracking cake afterwards and a class medal
