Organiser's Description

11/12/22- EVENT MEDAL IS SOLD OUT but entries still open for lucky dip finisher

Its back, the Christmas Canter with another beautiful medal - and the 3rd to collect this season

Come and join us at our exclusive venue at Horseheath Racecourse, Cambridge, CB21 4QP

It is a 6 hour event (if you a 9am start) or a 4 hour event (if you 11am start), run as far as you can during the six hours and a little bit more if you're lucky, as long as you are leaving the Base Camp by 5:59:59 you get to run another lap. This event will be on an out and back course through the beautiful grounds of Horseheath.

You can run as much or little as you want to, you can rest between laps if you like and take in the atmosphere, drink and nibbles at the aid station.

You may be completing your first official 5k,10k, Half Marathon, Full Marathon or even ultra-Marathon, or it may be your 100th or 1000th, the location is pretty self-contained, making this an intimate event with us having exclusive use of the main area. We have plenty of open space at the venue to ensure we can all stay socially distanced and space ourselves adequately,

This race is also ideal for those who want to try and achieve a Marathon distance and for those who also want the option to push a little further, possibly an ultra but without the complications of trail ultras, with next to no navigation, no kit required, an aid station every lap and straightforward logistics.

On entering, you will receive an email with the link to the race briefing pack giving you all the instructions you need for race day

Course Details

An undulating picturesque course within the private grounds of Horseheath Race Course. The terrain has long slopes rather than hills, it is a challenging course. It is mainly pathway and our suggestion is to wear road trainers, but depending on the weather before the event you may want to bring trails if you have them but not essential.

Select your Wave

There will be two waves available; 9am and 11am

  • Please note the cut off point is 3pm, meaning that those that start at 11am only have 4hours to complete their distance

Great run. Beautiful scenery. My first 10K so I was a bit worried about running on snow but it was easy to run in as compacted down and not slippy. Very helpful hosts and great refreshments after the race. Would have been nice to park here but then I probably wouldn’t have had a good warm up walk first. (Hill entrance to race course was too slippery for most vehicles)

Very well organised. The weather was cold and snow was on the ground. Advice on the day was given by car park marshal. Good facilities and the organisers and ladies doing refreshments were friendly and chatty.
