Organiser's Description
The whole of Llyn Padarn is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and home to a rare type of fish called Arctic Charr. Legend has it that is was brought here from Rome by the early Christians while scientists believe it has survived in the lake since the ice age; either way it's a pretty robust fish that's been around for some time. It inhabits the depths of the lake which at a deepest point of 29m means they're not going to interfere with your swim.
With it's crystal clear waters and incredible views Llyn Padarn has become infamous as one of the best Open Water Swimming spots in the UK and we're really excited to bring these Open Water Swimming events to the Slateman Triathlon weekend.

MINIMUM AGE - 1000m
Our Swim events are run in line with British Triathlon Federation rules - you must be at least 15 years old to take part in this race.

MINIMUM AGE - 2000M
Our Swim events are run in line with British Triathlon Federation rules - you must be at least 17 years old to take part in this race.

MINIMUM AGE - 2.4M
Our Swim events are run in line with British Triathlon Federation rules - you must be at least 18 years old to take part in this race.
REGISTRATION
Registration for the swim will take place before the race on Saturday morning. Registration is usually located on the Event Field in Llanberis situated next to the Community Centre - LL55 4UR
Confirmed timings will be detailed in your Final Instructions which will be available on the website and via email 10 days prior to the race.
Please note that registration has set times for specific distances.
FINAL INSTRUCTIONS
Will be sent out and available to download 1 week before the event.
START TIMES
1000M - The provisional start time for the 1000m swim is 11:15*
2000M - The provisional start time for the 2000m swim is 12:00*
2.4m - The provisional start time for the 2000m swim is 13:00*

PRIZES
We hold a prize giving ceremony after the racing, approximate timings will be detailed in the Final Instructions however it is a good idea to listen out for information on any updates that come in over the tannoy. Sometimes the ceremony may be delayed and we wouldn't want you to miss out. We don't send out prizes after the event, so make sure you attend the ceremony and receive your big Welsh cheer!
