Organiser's Description

Smash through the pines of this Nottinghamshire hidden forest and explore the rugged terrains of these forest tracks. With a variety of long downhills and straights runs you’ll get into a strong constant tempo that will push you to the finish line.

There will be a mass group warm up before you take to the starting line. Each distance will set off separately and runners will be called to the start line by an official MC.

The courses are signposted and well marshalled and cover stunning views of the forest. As this is a trail run, runners can potentially expect mixed terrain, hills, loose surfaces and exposed tree roots – all adding to the thrill of the event.

You can collect your race pack including race number and timing chip at the registration tent set within event site. Registration opens at 8.00am. Please note the Junior race will not be chip timed.

You must be 16 or older for the 16km. Those 15 and over can take on the 10k and 14 or over to sign up for the 5k. The Junior Race is open to ages 4 or over, or parent/guardian with running buggies.
Race times are as follows:
09:30am - 16km / 09:45 - 10km / 10:00 - 5km / 10:10 - Junior Race

Was determined to love this race and the route was great- but some details did let it down. There were no route markers after the 10K point including at a crossroads which did lead to runners going the wrong way. There was also just one opportunity for water a little after the 8K mark which was difficult for 16K runners- and it was a very hot day. Great place to run but room for improvement in the organisation.

Great event, loads of parking, gorgeous picturesque route, brilliant and friendly organisers. Only two comments - They were running a bit late (no biggie) but after the 16k start they said the 10k would go in 15 minutes. Lots of people dispersed to toilets etc then they set the race off after only 10 minutes. Second point, on the 10k, there was no water until after the 8k marker! It was a very hot day and a pretty hilly course. Water was needed much earlier. I don’t like to make negative comments on charity races run by volunteers but feel these are fairly important issues that could be addressed next year :) All in all had a great day.

Great route and a lovely experience. There were some issues getting 10k started but it didn’t affect the other races.
