Welcome to the Snowdonia Trail Marathon 2021, a stunning Trail Marathon, Ultra Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k, starting and finishing in Wales's outdoor capital, Llanberis. Entering the Snowdonia Trail Marathon 2021 is your ticket to compete in one of the UK's most challenging trail races.
The Snowdonia Trail Marathon is a challenge in every sense of the word. Ascending 1,685 metres over 26 miles of iconic and spectacular trails, this epic race will circumnavigate and eventually climb Wales' highest peak - Snowdon. The incredible route explores the trails, gorgeous panoramic views and tough climbs that make Snowdonia National Park such a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts. Visiting Rhyd Ddu, Beddgelert, Nant Gwynant, Pen y Pass and Snowdon, there surely can't be a more striking trail marathon route in the UK!
The Ultra Marathon and Marathon have also been recognised as UTMB qualifying races. The Ultra will earn finishers 3 ITRA points and the Marathon 2 ITRA points.

Race Rules
- The event will be run under Welsh Athletics rules
- The minimum age on the day is 17 for the half marathon and 10k, and 18 for the full marathon / Ultra Marathon

- You may be required to carry full kit. Final Decisions will be made on race day. Random kit checks will take place.
- Walking poles ARE allowed in this race.
Compulsory Kit
You may be required to carry full kit. Random kit checks will take place and penalties or disqualification may result in carriage of incorrect equipment.
The Half Marathon, Marathon, & Ultra distances must be prepared to carry compulsory kit consisting of the following;
- Wind proof full body cover - Windproof jacket windproof trousers - Full lengths arms and legs
- Suitable off road running shoes - fell/trail shoes
- Hat and Gloves (Head and hand cover)
- Whistle
- Emergency food
- Bumbag/race vest
- Foil Blanket
- Spare water
- Suntan Lotion
Additional / advisory kit:
- GPS Device (watch with route downloaded)
- Mobile Telephone
- Extra Long Sleeved Warm Layer
- Compass & Map (If you know how to use them)
- Poles (we permit people to use poles)
Final Decisions will be made on race day.
By entering the event you agree to the following:
I declare that I will abide by the governing bodies rules and that I am fit to take part in the event. I will not hold the event organiser responsible or any injury or loss. I understand that the final decision as to whether the event will go ahead on the day is that of the organisers 'Always Aim High Events LTD'.

There is a compulsory cut off at 1415 at Pen Y Pass to safeguard the well being of both athletes and our marshals. Athletes arriving after this time will be offered the choice of returning by foot to the event village or waiting for a shuttle vehicle. Buses to Llanberis are £1.50 should you wish to use them.
Ultra Marathon - This is Mile 28.6 ( 46.00 Km). You will need to average 16.15 min/mile or 10.06 min/Km
Marathon - This is Mile 18.8 ( 30.25 Km). You will need to average 16.45 min/mile or 10.25 min/Km
The Finish Line will close at 1830. This allows the below times for completion.
Ultra Marathon - 12 Hrs
Marathon - 9 Hrs 30 Mins
For Marshal Welfare, Half and 10K runners will need to finish within the following times.
Half Marathon - 6 Hrs 30 Mins
10k - 2 Hrs 30 Mins
