How to Get There

There’s quick, straightforward access from the North West along the M56 and A55. Motorway links with the Midlands are good too, and the same roads – the M6, M5 and M1 – also bring Anglesey within easy reach of the South of England.

Parking

Parking is included in the NRW fee paid on entry. Please follow the instructions of our marshals to ensure that there is plenty of room for everyone.

Location

Newborough Forest is situated in the village of Newborough on the south west coast of Anglesey. It has good transport links and is easy to find. Use the postcode LL61 6SG to bring you to the right road. It's about a mile from the village to the access road on the edge of the forest.

SPRINT

The Sprint triathlon is part of the Welsh Triathlon Super Series. Please note that to qualify, you must enter at least one week before the date of the event.

ROUTE
With a beach start and sea swim, lining up on the glorious Newborough beach is an unforgettable feeling. The route is a simple out and back but only the ocean will decide whether your pitted against calm waters or white tipped waves!

Don’t believe the rumours that this Island is flat! There are plenty of climbs and descents on the bike route to keep you on your toes. Starting from transition in the heart of Newborough Forest you climb up to the village of Newborough and take a right. Heading along sweeping bends and fast straights you then will take a left towards Llangaffo where the roads get noticeably narrower and deserving of some respect. Flowing down through the marshlands towards Malltraeth you will then turn left again back onto the main road in the direction of Newborough. Descend down the forest road once more and into transition ready to get your running shoes on.

The run takes place on the rugged trails of Newborough Forest. Running through the trees and down along the sand dunes is both wonderful and gruelling. The last 1.5km is almost entirely on sand but it only makes the accomplishment all the more rewarding.
