Symonds Yat Super Looper

This is a solo 6 hour event. You have 6 hours to do as many loops of the Symonds Yat course as possible. Each loop is 5.25 km and has 160m of vert. The height gain is via the hardest trail locally and includes over 100+ steps – it’s wonderfully brutal and tops out on the Symonds Yat view point.

The route runs past the cafe / toilets / checkpoints and support teams’ vehicles.

You have 6 hours to complete as many loops as you can.
A loop starts and finishes at the aid station by the Symonds Yat car park / HQ.
It will be a mass start.
The terrain under foot is technical and appropriate footwear should be worn.
The route trends downhill for 1.5 km, then there’s a short sharp uphill, it’s downhill after that to the 2 km flat by the river Wye. Brace yourself for ‘the climb’ – it’s the most testing climb in the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley, at the top of it, you must go and touch the trig point before descending back the same way and onto the loop.
After the start you must sign in after each loop. You will be electronically scored BUT you need to sign in. You can NOT run past HQ / Registration.
The race starts at 10 am and finishes at 4 pm – you have 6 hours

You are allowed support teams at the HQ car park – however – food, water, snacks, electrolytes, energy bars etc will be provided.
