The UK’s most stunning and sought after event is the finale of the Castle Run Series. The Hever Castle estate has a wealth of history; most recognisably the home of two of Henry VIII 6 wives. It was the childhood home of Anne Boleyn and one of the homes Anne of Cleaves was given after her divorce.
Run through the stunning grounds and surrounding landscapes of iconic castles throughout the UK, Ireland and France for a memorable race experience. Thanks Castle Race Series for the Hever Castle half-marathon, as part of the Castle Series running and triathlon weekend. Really good event.
Very well organised, from pre-event videos to parking to directions to pre-event briefing to fab marshals to post-race event village. Can't fault it.
Many of these trail events are for the hardcore few, and I just joined this fab company of oddballs this year. And it's great, but usually at such events there's a small bunch us nutters running around fields and up 'n' down hills, and then eating a flapjack before ambling back to the car.
This Hever Castle event was family-friendly (ferris wheel for the kids!), had great catering options, nice people to cheer us on therefore. And was set in the castle and both incorporated the 'normal' people there as part of the vibe without either crowd getting in each other's way.

Beautiful, challenging course. You don’t get many places as beautiful as Hever Castle for running or triathlon. The course is challenging because of its hills, so you might not PR for your favourite distance but you will challenge your abilities in beautiful scenery.

11.6k not 10k. The kilometre markers were a km out. Ass soon as I came to the first marker, 3k, I think, my gps had me at 4K so after 10k on my watch I had no idea how long there was to go. Myself and the other competitors all found our garmins said between 11.5 and 11.6k by the end. Lacklustre ever village and medal, very trodden and muddy and the race was delayed by an hour. I think it would be a good triathlon but the 10k wasn’t that well organised I didn't feel.
