Participants will enjoy a lively atmosphere with a stunning city centre start and finish, running past some of Chester's most iconic landmarks. The racecourse begins at Nuns Road, adjacent to the famous Chester Racecourse, and meanders through picturesque areas, including the charming village of Mollington, before returning to the heart of the city. Organiser's Description

All abilities, ages and speeds are welcome in the award winning, sell-out MBNA Chester 10K. It's Chester's only city-based 10K, it's the best City Centre 10K in the North West and is the first event of the Chester Triple Series (enter and finish our 10K & Marathon or Metric Marathon in the same year for extra special, extra large and extra gold medal). Join us for what will be an amazing day.

The MBNA Chester 10K is a great introductory race for new runners and an ideal stepping stone for runners aiming for a half marathon in the future. The race will also host the England Athletics Age Group Masters 10K Championship adding to an already unforgettable atmosphere.

The event boasts a lively city centre start and finish, with a route that passes many of Chester's iconic landmarks. This fast course starts from Nuns Road next to the iconic Chester Racecourse and heads north-west out of the City along wide roads allowing runners to rapidly settle into race pace, then passing close to the picturesque village of Mollington, before returning to the heart of Chester City centre passing the historic Victorian town hall and Medieval Cathedral, before finishing on Eastgate Street with a spectacular backdrop of the Eastgate Clock.

Really positive atmosphere! The volunteers helping to marshal the start, those out on the course cheering on were brilliant, and those handing out the t-shirts, medals and bags kept the event running very smoothly indeed.
