THE CHILTERN100 RETURNS ON 23RD JUNE 2024!
Set yourself a cycling challenge this summer in one of the most beautiful parts of England, tackling the climbs that the Chilterns are famous for.
This year the Chiltern100 will be part of the ATW Chiltern Endurance Weekend, where you can not only cycle, but tackle swim & run events too! Click here for more info on the ATW Chiltern Endurance Weekend.
With distances varying from the 60km Explorer, the 100km Medio Fondo, up to the formidable 160km Gran Fondo with over 2000m of climbing, there is something for everyone on two wheels. With fully signposted routes, chip-timing, downloadable gpx files and feed stations on the route, this is a great way to explore the beautiful Chiltern countryside.
All routes start from our event HQ in Bellingdon, near Chiltern Velo cafe. The 160km route drops down in to Tring before tackling the first climb of the day up to Wiggington. The next climb of significance will be Tom's Hill out of Aldbury, then Gravel Lane out of Berkhamstead heading towards the majestic Ashridge House. Briden's Camp looms next before dropping in to Dagnall and the infamous Bison Hill and the steady climb up to the beautiful views of Dunstable Downs. The next 25k descend down in to the village of Wendover and head over to the double-whammy of Whiteleaf and Wardrobes, before finishing off with a trip up to Coombe Hill and Rocky Lane. The event finishes via Chesham to the cafe at Chiltern Velo.
The shorter routes turn back sooner and can be viewed on the 'Route' links above.
There is a 10hr overall time cut-off for the event.
This epic event is delivered in partnership between Verulam CC , ATW and Chiltern Velo.
