I was impressed with absolutely everything on my 1st Marathon.
I had come from Sunderland so had made a fair commitment to the event but it was worth it.
Location was easy to find and I collected my race number on the day. There was an aid station you could leave your supplies at and also a toilet there that you will pass every 3.5 miles (1 lap).
The course was beautiful. Passing the lakes 7 times gave you an appreciation of it. I enjoyed the fact it was fairly low key almost park run style. People still supported you but you could run in peace.
The organisers were really good. As we were passing the lap markers - they greeted everyone by name! I.e - keep going Carl. They had water and supplies there.
I completed my first marathon and I'm happy I chose here to do it.
Definitely recommend to others.
Really glad to hear you enjoyed your first marathon, some people prefer big cities & crowds but they are not for everyone.
