Join us for the exhilarating Hampshire Hoppit on Sunday, June 14th, 2026, in the picturesque Basingstoke, Hampshire! Organised by the Basingstoke and Mid Hants Athletics Club, this fantastic event offers three exciting trail races: a marathon, a half marathon, and a 10k, all set against the stunning backdrop of the North Downs. Starting and finishing at the iconic Watership Down, participants will enjoy clearly marked and marshalled paths, including sections of the famous Wayfarers Walk and the Harrow Way for the marathon and half marathon.

Renowned for its warm community spirit, the Hampshire Hoppit has proudly received the GOLD award from Racecheck for seven consecutive years! Runners can expect not only a festival atmosphere at the finish line but also unique engraved beer glasses for all finishers, along with a refreshing pint of ‘Hoppit’ ale from the Loddon Brewery or a soft drink. Organiser's Description

The Hampshire Hoppit marathon, half marathon, and 10k, are all trail events in the beautiful North Downs starting (and finishing) at Watership Down. Winner of the GOLD award from Racecheck for the past seven consecutive years, the Hoppit races use clearly marked and marshalled paths, and include sections of the famous long distance footpath, the Wayfarers Walk and, for the marathon and half marathon only, the Harrow Way.

The race is held under UK Athletics Rules, as required in the permit conditions. It is renowned for its friendliness and support, and the festival atmosphere at the finish.

Every finisher receives a unique engraved beer glass and a thirst-quenching fill of ‘Hoppit’, a Classic Ale (3.9%AV) from the Loddon Brewery, available from the post-race bar at the Race HQ, or a soft drink if preferred! The half marathon finisher receives a half pint engraved glass, and the full marathon finisher receives a full pint engraved glass. For the 10k finisher, we have a third pint engraved glass. All finishers also get a special engraved medal to commemorate their fine achievement, and one of the best Goody Bags in the running world!

There will be a maximum race cut-off time for the full marathon of 7-hours. There is no race cut-off time for the half marathon or 10k.

Competitors must be 18 years old or over on race day (marathon), or 17 years old or over (half marathon), or 15 years old or over (10k).
