The UKCE Kent Classic

Sun 27th October 2024

Three cyclists, two adults and a child, smile and hold up bottles of non-alcoholic beer while sitting outdoors on a sunny day. They are wearing cycling gear and sitting next to bicycles and outdoor seating, with trees and buildings in the background. A man and a woman are cycling on a winding road with lush green trees and shrubs on either side. Both are wearing helmets and cycling gear; the woman’s gear is pink and black. The road and the surrounding landscape are brightly lit by the sun. Two women stand side by side, smiling and holding medals in an outdoor setting. Both have hair tied in buns and are dressed in athletic wear. A racetrack and field are visible in the background, with bright, natural light illuminating the scene.

Organiser's Description

Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity working to revolutionise the way we treat, diagnose and prevent dementia.
Going for a bike ride and spending time outside is beneficial to both our mental and physical health, but did you know keeping active can also keep our brains in shape?

That’s why we’re proud to be partnering with Alzheimer's Research UK for The Kent Classic cycling event, so together we can raise awareness of the things we can be doing to look after our brains and support the charity in its efforts to find a cure for dementia.

The Kent Classic - our final Classic series event of 2024 - starts and finishes at Lingfield Park Racecourse. The routes initially take you down and along the county border of East Sussex and Kent, before navigating around Hever Castle.

All three routes showcase the High Weald AONB for its rolling hills, diverse landscapes and wild untamed flora and fauna. The Long route makes its way to the most South-Easterly reaches of the Kent Downs as it loops up and around Sevenoaks before crossing over the Bough Beech reservoir and returning back to Lingfield.

Of course, you’ll be rewarded for all your efforts as you cross the finish line to receive a finisher medal and other goodies from our partners.

Our Kent events are always popular due to it being extremely accessible for lots of riders so if you want to join us, don’t hang about on this one. We look forward to seeing you in October.
