How to Get There

By Car

If driving the event is set at the end of Ham Street by the riverside. The postcode is TW10 7RS. Please note parking is very limited by the riverside however there is parking all the way up Ham Street. It's important that you check parking signs to ensure you do not park in a residential parking space.

By Train

If travelling by train Richmond Station is the closest and it's then about a 20-30 minute walk down the riverside to Ham House.

Event Hub Location

You will find the event hub on the grass section to the right of the carpark once you reach the riverside. See visual below.

Course Details

Please note the course is a mix of trail and paths and we recommend trail shoes for this event - The course is flat - The run route goes out and back on itself - off road buggies are ok - not wheelchair friendly - note the course may be altered at any point up to event day if necessary

Do you have any age restrictions / can children take part?

Absolutely! We typically allow children of all ages to take part in all our events (unless specific information is given for a set event). Please note that children remain the responsibility of their parents/guardian throughout our events. If the parent/guardian is satisfied the child/children can confidently run 5k or 10k unaccompanied they may do so, with a parent/guardian remaining onsite at all times.

Can I run with a buggy?

Yes this is typically ok for most locations however please check the run route course as some locations can be a mix of path, trail, grass so not always suitable for running with a buggy. Also please try and stay to the left as much as possible to give room for other runners. (this is allowed at running events but not triathlon, please see last faq for more info)

Can I walk / do you have a cut off time to complete the event in?

We typically have a cut off time of 1.5 hours to complete the 5k/10k races from when the event starts. 3 hours for half marathons. Walking part of a 5k event is typically fine but the 10k races are mostly for running (with a bit of walking/jogging if necessary!). If doing a virtual run you have the luxury of completing your event anytime, anywhere and for however long throughout the given event period!

Can I wear headphones?

Yes we do allow this but please note it is your responsibility to make sure you can hear what's going on around you when running, including marshals and general public. Please keep the volume at a level whereby you can hear any important announcements that may be made. (this is allowed at running events but not triathlon, please see last faq for more info)

arrival & registration

Our Richmond Spring Riverside 10k run will start at 9.30am.

Registration will be open from 8.00am and will close at 9.20am so please arrive nice and early.

PLEASE NOTE you will collect your race pack at registration on the day of the event.

Race information will be sent by email pre-event and all your race details can be found within your online profile. Once registered login to check race updates, news, partner offers and more.

You will be using our Chip on Bib race numbers and it is important these are displayed on your outer garment to ensure 1) We can see your race number when running and 2) To help with the timing system to read your time.

Bag storage is available but please note space is limited so travel as lightly as possible.

the event

The run will kick off at 9.30am and will take you up towards Richmond where you will turn and head back down the river towards Kingston before heading back to the finish!

There is carparking at the Start/Finish point on Ham Street however this is limited so either arrive early or if possible leave the car at home!! Richmond mainline station is about 30 minutes walk. The course is along the riverside and its pretty much flat the whole way! Remember its all good fun and you can walk, jog or run!!

Please note that the start of the run will be staggered to avoid too much congestion on the towpaths. However this will not affect your time as our Results Base timing team will record your time from when you cross the starting mat.

There will be marshals around the course to support and encourage you.

Please take care when running around the course as this is public land and local residents will be out and about. Please always stay on the left unless otherwise guided.

Water stations can be found at 4km and 7km.

If wearing headphones please make sure you can hear other people around you and marshal instructions.

post event

Everyone will receive a medal and there are also a few trophies that are up for grabs.

Results will be displayed on our Results Base Timing screen so after crossing the finish line you can check out your instant results.

These go live to our website and you will receive an email update once the race is over.

Drinks and sweets will be available at the finish line along with any other goodies from our event partners.

iPro Sport, our hydration partners for this event, are supplying all runners and supporters with their product. Many thanks to them!

The race was impeccably organised and the staff so friendly and helpful. Prior to the race I tried diligently to check if there would be loos but there was nothing in the faqs or info that I could see, which made me anxious. I couldn't see any 'contact us' either. Might have been missing something in my panic. Congratulations on a well organised event. I will be entering further events. Good work 👏

A well run run. Easy to register, decent size, enthusiastic marshals and a beautiful sunny start to the day. More what could you want to run along the riverside on a spring Saturday morning?!

Beautiful race, great day. One of the most enjoyable 10km's I've ever run! Along the river for the entire route, with views so pretty you'll almost forget to pace! Team at the start/finish line are great and even kept an eye on my 14 y/o sister who came along to support for me.

Good event, organised, nice course.. First time I have run this event. Easy to pick up race number all the world there were really helpful and friendly. Parking no issue though we did get there early. Course nice and flat and straight forward. Would run again

Nice race but poor venue. Essentially a park-run that you pay for with some treats at the end. Path only 2m wide at all times, members of the public running and cycling through, and about 1/3 of the route is on a mucky gravel track that's slippery and dangerous. Apart from that, the organisers were very nice facilities were fine.

Great event. Really well organised, great running along the river and medals and refreshments at the end. Would definitely do again.
