Organiser's Description

The Total Motion Aquathlon at Tooting Bec Lido is established as a firm favourite with multisport athletes in SW London and forms part of the British Triathlon London Senior League.

Tooting Bec Lido is the largest freshwater swimming pool in the UK and as such provides the perfect venue to create an aquathlon like no-other.

The event begins with a staggered start to the 810m, 9 length swim of Tooting Bec Lido, and followed by a run of 2 loops of Tooting Common, totalling 5km. The aquathlon is chip timed, allowing you to receive times and splits immediately after you finish via text message. Participants may enter The Total Motion Aquathlon as a relay team with one person swimming and one running.

What is it?
The Total Motion Aquathlon comprising a lido swim followed by a run around Tooting Common.

Is the Aquathlon open to everyone?
The event is open to anyone over the age of 17 on 31st December 2020

Is the Aquathlon Chip Timed?
Yes, the event will be professionally chip timed allowing you to receive a text message with your splits as well as viewing the results online post event. You will receive your chip on a neoprene band to attach to your ankle at registration.

Can I enter as a team?
Yes, you can enter as an individual or in a relay team of two.

When does registration open?
Registration will be open from 1.5 hours prior to the start, where you will be given race numbers, timing chips and final instructions for the event.

Where is the run route?
The run route will be signposted and marshaled and can be seen on the map adjacent. Runners will follow loops of the common before heading back to the finish.

Will there be medical supervision?
First aiders will be present at the event and there will be life guards at the pool, as well as marshals on the run course for your safety.

Where is transition?
When you register you will be directed to transition.

What do I need to bring?
You will need to bring your printed race confirmation.

What do I need to wear?
Swim – Goggles, wetsuit (strongly advised),swim cap. Please note that wetsuits are likely to be compulsory for the swim leg, with the pool temperature likely to be mid teens degrees centigrade.

Transition – Towel – Good to mark your position!

Run – Appropriate footwear.

Will there be refreshments?
Yes, refreshments will be available on the day on the run course and at the finish.

Are there changing facilities & showers?
The lido has changing and showering facilities that are available to all competitors before and after the event.

Can spectators come along?
Spectators are more than welcome and actively encouraged, so please bring your friends and family along to cheer you on.

Can I volunteer?
Events such as these cannot take place without the very kind help of volunteers. If you are coming along to spectate, why not get involved too? Please e-mail [email protected] if you would like to help.

Is there parking?
There is a small car park at the lido and parking in the surrounding roads, although you are encouraged to arrive by other means if possible.

Minimum Age Requirement

The event is open to anyone over the age of 17 on 31st December 2020.

Btf Licence

All competitors must hold a valid British Triathlon Federation Licence. If you do not have one you must purchase a day license with your registration for an additional £3.
