Course Details
The Tour of Silchester was designed to show off the natural history right on our doorsteps. Taking in a network of winding, rolling roads along the Hampshire/Berkshire border, the routes head to and around the historic Roman settlement of Silchester. After a loop of the site, the route heads back to Yateley along some of the nicest roads our country has to offer.

1. Do you provide live timing?
Our events are not timed. This decision is taken to make our events as accessible to riders as possible, minimising the cost to set up the events and ultimately the price we have to charge our riders.
2. Do you provide medals or certificates?
We are now offering medals upon completion of any of our events this year.
The medals are available as an optional extra when entering and are available for £4.50. The decision was taken to offer the medals as an optional extra to ensure we keep our entry fees low, maximising the amount of money we raise for Naomi House & Jacksplace and ensuring our events remain accesible. We also appreciate that not all participants want a medal, so we wanted to make sure they’re not impacted due to the cost and that wastage is kept to a minimum.
The medals are now available to pre-order when entering any of our events, and will be given out on completion of your event.
As always, ideas like these will be constantly reviewed against our values and following the feedback of our valued participants.
3. When can I expect pre-event details?
We send our pre-event details out once online pre-entry has closed on the Wednesday before each of our events. The pre-event email contains everything you need to know about what happens on the day of the event and what you may need to bring with you.
4. Are there refreshements available before, during and after your ride?
There will be refreshments available to buy at the event HQ before and after your ride, including soft, cold and hot drinks, as well as a selection of snacks.
During the ride, we are lucky to be supported by local baker Simple Cakes, with the long routes on each of our events containing one water and cake stop where you can sample a number of their complimentary cakes.
Riders are encouraged to bring sufficient food and water for during their ride.
5. Do you have any age restrictions?
We do not have any age restrictions for participating in our events. We do however ask that any under 16s are accompanied by an adult at all times and that riders enter a route distance suitable to their ability.
6. Can I cancel or change my entry?
You can cancel your entry and receive a full refund up to 1 month before the event. If you wish to cancel your entry less than 1 month before the event, your entry can only be transferred to another one of our events.
Changes to your entry, such as the route option, can also be made up to 7 days before the event.
Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for full details.
7. Are tandems and hand cycles allowed?
Yes, all types of bicycles are allowed at a Hampshire Tour Series event.
8. Do you have a broom wagon or cut-off time?
Menbers of our partners at Odiham Cycling Club will ride at the back of each route. The riders should make themselves known if they are the broom wagon. There will also be motorcycle riders at each of the events circling the route should you run into any problems.
All riders must return back to the event HQ by 2pm.
