Wendover Woods Marathon, Half Marathon & 10k

Event Overview:
Situated in the beautiful surroundings of the Chiltern Hills, Wendover Woods is a perfect location for trail racing. Enjoy the forest while it is festooned with autumnal colours and allow the crisp November air to invigorate every step. The route is multi lapped along a challenging undulating course and the event is open to runners of all abilities, from novices to experienced athletes and is perfect for those looking to clock some miles this Autumn. There is an on-site Cafe and lots to do for your supporters. Why not bring the family to enjoy the Go Ape Tree Top Adventure, or try out the adventure play areas, Gruffalo trail, bike trails and it's dog friendly too!
 
Course Details:
The course is four laps for the Marathon, two laps for the half marathon and a single loop for 10k, of an undulating route around the trails and paths within Wendover Woods. It's stunningly beautiful with some challenging sections. If the weather leading up to race-day has been inclement, then you can expect lots of mud! But, it all adds to the fun! We will also have a 1k race for our younger runners and all children receive a medal.

Junior 1k Run:
We love celebrating our junior racers and encouraging them to the start line where we cheer each and every one of them.
We hope that their experience of a dedicated race, just for them, will help to inspire a life-long love of this wonderful and enriching sport and help to spark a passion for an activity that will bring them great joy, health benefits and escapism for many years to come.

The junior race is approximately 1km and consists of a nippy out and back.
Numbers can be collected from Race HQ and entries will be available on the day.
All children will receive a finishers medal.

Parents are responsible for collecting their children at the finish line.
If parents are accompanying their children on this race (and this is something that we encourage!) then no additional entry is required. However, participating parents will not receive a junior medal... these are reserved exclusively for our junior runners!

We are doing our best to work sustainably and to ensure that the carbon footprint of our races is kept as low as possible. We are always working on new initiatives and you can read more about these...  here!

A note on headphones:
Due to new UKA rules that came into force on 01 April 2024, in the ear and over the ear headphones are no longer permitted at running events unless otherwise stated. Bone conducting headphones are permitted however, if you do choose to wear bone conducting headphones, then we ask that you have the volume turned down low enough to hear the marshal instructions.
