Get off the road!
The roads are pretty rubbish for cycling on at the moment after all the Siberian weather we've been having, so why not get off the road for some proper dirty fun? Here is our super 6 of mountain bike / cyclocross events that are a great introduction to the off road scene.
1 / 10 Under the Ben
10 Under the Ben, we believe, is Scotland's original and best mountain bike event, long established as a 'must do' for every mountain biker. It's a great day’s riding on the amazing trails around Leanachen Forest, with some fine climbs, sweet single track, great gripping descents and a whole lot of fun. Go as hard, or…
2 / Wiggle Super Series Ups and Downs MTB
This ride takes in the the trails, hills and sprawling wooded sections of the Surrey Hills and North Downs. The Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty provides the backdrop to 3 classic mountain bike routes, where testing climbs, exhilarating descents and spectacular views await you. Three distance options.
3 / Ride It Hatfield MTB
This ride has become a stalwart of the RIDE IT off-road calendar. Based just South of Hatfield, we're in a great place to begin a fast-paced day of off-road cycling. The route speaks for itself as we head through the award winning Lee Valley Regional Park, following the River Lea along some great trails full of ups…
4 / The Clwydian Range Challenge
This challenge is certainly an endurance event, but is graded red in terms of technicality. So, anyone with a mountain or CX bike and relatively good fitness can complete one of the distances. The route will head out and around the Clwydian range in Denghbishire, facing stiff climbs, fast flowy and sometimes technical…
5 / The 3 Dales Mountain Bike Challenge
This event makes for an exciting challenge for all standards of mountain bike and cyclo-cross rider. There are three routes, all starting from Threshfield, near Grassington: The Ribble, which may well become known as the ter-Ribble as it's about 39 miles long and climbs over 4,000ft - for hardcore experienced riders;…
6 / Mendip Murmuration
Following a successful two years, we are returning to Cheddar in 2019, further cemeting this event as one of our three Somerset-based off-road cycling events, now known as 'The Triple’.
