14 Miles - Chess Valley - Train to Trails - The Chilterns

Chesham, Buckinghamshire

HP5 1LF Water Meadow, Chesham, United Kingdom

Sat 16th December 2023

Starting at 09:30

1 race

£22.00

Organiser's Description

Distance and Elevation: 14 miles with 1,000ft of elevation (Optional bonus ‘The Pednor Loop’ – 6miles with 350ft of elevation)

A beautiful guided run, which starts in the market town of Chesham, before opening out on to tracks across fields and country lanes as we make our way towards the Chess Valley. We will then drop down through the woods and follow the popular ‘Chess Valley Walk’ trail past Latimer House, with its stunning lake and views across the valley. As we will be running beside the River Chess, there is a risk of wet feet (or more!) if it has decided to burst its banks and flood the fields either side; the ground can also be wet and marshy during the Winter. We may also get to see the famous Red Kites

It's truly terrifying weather but that's my 1st trail on very enjoyable none the less. The organisers and pace setters couldn't do enough for us despite the horrific conditions for most of the run.

The conditions were horrendous mud mud and more mud but an excellent trail run. Only occasional road running. Well done to the organisers.
