Arrow Valley Sprint Triathlon

800m Swim:
o Our single-lap swim takes place in the pristine waters of Arrow Valley Lake, which has
achieved certified pass excellent status under the EC Bathing Water Directive (2006/7/EC).
It’s a beautiful and safe setting, providing the perfect start to your triathlon journey.

20km Bike:
o The bike route will take you on an exhilarating ride through Worcestershire’s scenic lanes.
With a mix of undulating and twisting roads, as well as some fast, flat sections, it’s a course
designed to challenge and excite. Take in the beautiful countryside as you power through
this engaging segment.

5km Run:
o The final leg is a predominantly flat 5km run along the picturesque footpaths surrounding
Arrow Valley Lake. It’s a fast and friendly course to close out your race, perfect for a strong
finish with plenty of spectator support.

You need to collect your race pack from Registration at the event site on Sunday. Registration opens at and we recommend you register as early as possible to avoid unnecessary [insert open time TBC 8:00 am} queues.
You must bring Photo ID to collect your race pack e.g. driving licence. Photos and screenshots are fine. We suggest that you save them in your favourites so they can be found easily. If you have a BTF Race Licence, please ensure you have uploaded a photo (or bring a separate photo ID).

We recommend taking a screenshot of your online BTF licence as signal at site can be poor – please ensure it includes the expiry date.

Your pack will likely include:
• Race number x 2 – for the front on the run and the back on the bike.
• Stickers – for identification of property and race photos

Bike Racking
All bike racking takes place on Sunday after you have registered. You will need to be wearing your helmet to rack your bike (which must have the security sticker attached to the frame). Please keep the race number on as you will need it for all access to transition.

Start Times
This event is a mass start at [TBC 9:30am]. Athletes will start entering the water 10 minutes before the start to acclimatise and the race will start with the athletes in the water. Plan out how long you need to travel to site, to get yourself ready and get to the start line (which is a short walk from transition or registration). You will not be allowed to start the race after the last athlete has started their swim

Event Site Facilities
With regards to facilities which can be used before and after racing, the visitors Centre at Arrow Valley has limited shower and changing facilities available. There are no changing facilities within transition, so please plan your race clothing appropriately (remembering the no nudity rule).

All our events have cut off times. No one enjoys implementing them, but they are important for athlete safety, maintaining good relationships with the venue and residents, and ensuring we meet our commitments to our volunteers, partners, and local agencies. We do our best to help people beat the cut offs where we can, but we will enforce them where necessary.

Cut offs are based on your personal start time. It is important that you can meet all the cut offs for the event, you will not be allowed to go over on a swim cut off on the promise that you are a fast biker. Of course, if you go faster on the previous discipline, you can carry that forward into the next. You can calculate the average minimum pace needed to meet the cut offs by dividing the total time available by the distance, but you should also check to see if any interim cut offs demand a slightly higher pace and factor in some contingency for mechanicals, comfort breaks etc.

For this event, we expect you to be able to complete the 800m swim in under 30 minutes.
