ATW Remembrance Runs

Sat 9th November 2024

A group of runners participate in a race on a sunny day. In the foreground, a man in a red shirt jumps playfully with a thumbs-up gesture, while others run behind him. The path is flanked by tall grass, and the ATW logo is visible in the lower right corner. Three women stand proudly with medals around their necks in front of a historic building, likely after completing a race. They are smiling and wearing athletic clothing, with one in a cap and another in an orange jacket. A runner in a black outfit and headband smiles playfully with his tongue out, wearing a race number 341. He runs on a sunny street with houses in the background and appears energized and happy.

Organiser's Description

Come and join us for the Essex Remembrance Run, in support of The Felix Fund.

Join ATW for our Remembrance Runs at The Carver Barracks, (Formerly Debden Airfield), in Essex to help us to honour our fallen heroes and raise money for this fantastic military charity.

Remembrance Day (informally known as Poppy Day owes to the tradition of wearing the remembrance poppy), has been observed in Commonwealth member states since the end of the First World War to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

The day will consist of a half marathon, 10km, 5km and a 1 mile race.
All races are traffic-free and use the flat and fast concrete grounds of the disused former World War 2 airfield.

The event will take place on Remembrance weekend in November, and accompanying your run we will have music on the course to motivate you.

Children under the age of eight years must have their own ticket and must be accompanied by a paying adult. This can be a ticket for any distance.
