This event will feature sprint and standard distance races. The swim is open water in Box End Lake, at Box End Park Watersports in Bedford, the bike course is on quiet, undulating, yet fast roads (not traffic-free), and the run is completely off-road (traffic-free), but is very changeable, which makes for fantastic and exciting racing.

This event is suitable for athletes of all abilities. Also relay and aquabike options at both distances.

How To Get There

By road: From the M1, leave at Junction 14 and take the A509 exit to Milton Keynes/Newport Pagnell. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto London Rd/A509. At Tickford Roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto A509. At Renny Lodge Roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on A509. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto A422. Turn right onto Spring Ln/B560Continue to follow B560. Turn left onto Box End Rd. Destination will be on the right

From the A1, take the 2nd exit from the Black Cat Roundabout onto the A421. Take the A428 ramp to Northampton/A6/Bromham/Kempston. At the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto The Branston Way/A428. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on The Branston Way/A428, At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Cemetery Rd. Continue onto Box End Rd. Destination will be on the right

By rail: Bedford has two railway stations, the main station is Bedford Midland Station and the smaller station is Bedford St John's. Bedford has good rail links to London, Brighton and the North of England via Derby and Sheffield.

Box End Park is about 4 miles from Bedford Midland Station.

Event Details

Registration packs will NOT be posted out in advance of the race. Registration packs can be collected on race day from 5:30am at race HQ.

You will be provided with two race numbers in your registration pack. Your race number must be clearly visible on your front for the run and on your back for the bike. If you are not using a race belt, please pin one number on your back and one on your front. If you are using a race belt, only one number is required, provided you adjust the position of your race number during each leg of the race.

All competitors must comply with BTF rules - including being licensed to race.

Non-BTF members are required to pay £5 in cash on race day for a day license. BTF members who cannot produce a valid BTF race license are required to pay for a day license.

This is a mass-start event

All finishing positions will be calculated based on gun time and not chip time.

This is a non-draft legal race.

Minimum age: Standard - 17yrs; Sprint - 15yrs with parental consent, on/before 31 Dec 2020.

We will not be providing a changing area, so please come changed and ready to race.

Course Details

Standard: 1500m Swim | 36.6Km Bike | 10.4Km Run

Sprint: 750m Swim | 18.3Km Bike | 5.3Km Run

The swim takes place in Box End Lake. The Lake is primarily used for wakeboarding, so contains lots of wakeboarding jumps. The route is a 750m clock-wise oval around the lake, between the jumps.

The bike route is a 18.3km loop on quiet, yet fast roads.

The 5.3k run loop is completely off-road, but is very changeable, which makes for fantastic and exciting racing. There will be two water stations. One approximately 100m from transition and the next half way around the loop. On offer will also be High 5 energy gels.

Other Information

Changing and Bag Storage
We will not be providing a changing area, therefore please come changed and ready to race. A marshalled baggage area within transition will be provided so you can keep your warm-up clothes safe during the race.
