Swimming in the Bay is only allowed when authorised by the Harbour Authority so by taking part in this event you will join an exclusive group of Cardiff Bay swimmers!
This event has been created primarily for triathletes looking to warm up or gain open water experience; however it is open to everyone and with four different distances this event has something for all from first time open water swimmers, to experienced swimmers looking for a challenge over a longer distance.

You can reach Cardiff city centre by train from virtually any location within the UK.
750m swim
Our Swim events are run in line with British Triathlon Federation rules. You must be at least 17 years old to take part in this race
Registration will take place on Friday evening and also before the race on Saturday morning - we will confirm specific times in your Final Instructions, which will be available on the website and via email 10 days prior to the race.
Registration is usually located on the Plass outside the Wales Millennium Centre CF10 5AL
The first wave usually starts at 09.00. Confirmed timings will be detailed in your Final Instructions which will be available on the website and via email 10 days prior to your race
In the interest of athlete safety and the safety of our volunteers on the course there will be strict cut off times in place. A confirmation of specific cut off times will be detailed in your Final Instructions which will be available on the website and via email 10 days prior to your race.
You have a total of 1 hour to complete your swim.
We hold a prize giving ceremony after the racing, approximate timings will be detailed in the final instructions however it is a good idea to listen out for any updates that come in over the tannoy. Sometimes the ceremony may be delayed and we wouldn't want you to miss out. We don't send out prizes after the event, so make sure you attend the ceremony and receive your big Welsh cheer!

This is a looped course, starting by the location of the former Dr. Who Centre and Finishing at the end of Roald Dahl Plas.
