A group of people run on a forest trail, some with race bibs and two leading dogs on leashes. The setting is outdoors with trees and foliage, and the trail is uneven and natural.

Organiser's Description

New for 2025, we introduce The Dart Challenge. It’s a six hour race on a weekday so you can fit it in around  shift patterns or childcare. Or maybe you’re retired or between jobs so any day will do.

We’ve teamed up with the Green Table Cafe who will be hosting registration & offering their excellent hot drinks & food all day long. This event is also helping to raise funds for a new playground at Dartington Hall.

This event enables all abilities to run, hike or walk together. Ultimately you can compete as many 5k laps as you wish in the time limit of 6 hours, between 9am-3pm. You can run one lap, collect your medal & go home or you can head out to complete as many laps as you can in six hours. Our crew will be on hand keep you motivated. The format is great for competitors who want to run further than before, enjoy a social run with family & friends, a long training run or tick off a marathon (8 laps + a short out & back) on your way of joining the 100 Marathon Club.

The 5k course is on mixed terrain including gravel, grass, a little bit of tarmac and, sometimes mud.  We’ve also added  a canicross (run with your dog option – see our FAQ
Trail shoes are strongly recommended.

Race entry includes: Professional RFID chip timing, Fully marked & marshalled routes, Stunning finishers medal, Prizes for category podiums, Water & feed stations, Event facilities & toilets, Fully trained medics, Event caterers. Public liability insurance

Beautiful venue. Well organised. Friendly and encouraging team. Green Table Cafe was perfect. Trail was varied and enjoyable. My first trail race and completed with my dog, would 100% recommend and do again myself.
