John OB said of the 2018 Dart SwimRun, "I wanted to thank you for organising and taking care of us all at the Dart swim run last weekend. G my swim run partner and I completed the event, our first swim run event and really enjoyed it. I loved the scale and friendliness of the event, it all worked really well and was great fun. I hope it’s worked our well from your perspective as I’d love to do it again next year, although I’ll go for the marathon rather than half marathon and hope for better weather. Tell the whole team, well done on a great job and a fantastic event."

Kit List

Unless you have told us otherwise, please make sure that you are wearing some kind of wetsuit. Swim socks or gloves are not needed but you MUST wear the event swim cap provided as this will identify you to our safety team and timekeepers. If you have already told us you want to swim ‘skinny’ please remind us who you are and we will pass this information onto our water safety team. Just email us at [email protected]. As swimrun events are supposed to be self sufficient, you MUST bring a tow float with you and running shoes. Hand paddles are optional. If you are swimming as a pair, you must have a bungee. We strongly recommend you wear some anti chafe cream as you can get sore in salt!

Do I run with my wetsuit or can I wear a shortie or go skins?

You can if you wish, wear a shortie or a tri suit, although the easiest option is to swim and run in a specialist swimrun suit, which are thinner and unlikely therefore to make you too hot. The bespoke swimrun suits also have front zips for easy access. We will only allow you to swim skins in exceptional cicrcumstance ie if you are a confident open water swimmer, you can swim without a suit but please tell us that this is your intention so we can make an informed decision. If you decide to do this, you must sign a waiver to say you agree to do this at your own risk. We will send this to you before the event. You will need to have taken part in previous swimruns or open water swims in June or earlier.

Mandatory equipment for team and solo participants.

NB. There will be a mandatory equipment check at registration.

You can hire wetsuits from our event partners Tri Wetsuit Hire who are offering all our entrants a 5% discount for a two week hire for tri or swimrun wetsuits. They are also offering our particiants full swimrun kit hire for the day for just £15.

A great event. I did this event with my friend Garin last year and we both loved it. It's extremely friendly and well organised. It's a great swim in a stunning location with a fun run through Totnes and a country park to finish. It's a small and intimate event that we highly recommend and we'll be doing it again.
