Dartmouth Triathlon

Blackpool Sands, Devon

Organiser's Description

The Dartmouth Triathlon, formerly the South Hams Triathlon, has a stunning course starting and finishing at Devon's Blackpool Sands beach. The race begins with a sea swim. Then you run up the beach to tackle one of the most glorious stretches of coast road in the UK on your bike with a couple of tough climbs but also a chance to blast down Devon's flattest road at Slapton Sands. The run, mainly on grass is 4 laps (or 2 laps for the Supersprint) of Blackpool sands grounds.

Tough but fun & friendly event

Another fun and we'll organised event. The setting is spectacular, transition is nestled in a cove surrounded by woods. The swim is across the foreshore with lots of lifeguards for those who aren't a fan of OW, and the stunning scenery on the bike leg more than compensates for the tough climbs at the beginning/end. The run is basically flat (by Devon standards) too.

Camping is available right next to the start line, although NO DOGS allowed on site. Only thing to be aware of is the gravelly nature of the beach and into transition.
