The majestic Alps reflected in the pristine waters of Lake Thun welcome athletes to Thun, the new home of IRONMAN Switzerland. This race took place in Zurich for 23 years before moving to its new home, a celebration of the Swiss mountain culture and landscape. Spot the three famous peaks Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau right from the event site and marvel at the beauty of this otherworldly landscape.
The one-loop swim starts at the renovated lido where athletes enter the pristine water of Lake Thun in the heart of the Alps. From there you'll swim towards the marina next to the lido and make your way into transition. The two-loop bike course takes athletes towards Spiez where they turn away from the Lake and into Gürbe valley. The course continues towards Berne Airport and the Gantrisch area. A smooth downhill gets you back to transition. The three-loop run takes athletes along the Lake to the event area and the "Schadaupark". You'll cross the historical "Scherzligschleuse" bridge before the turnaround – all to the backdrop of the majestic Alps!
