Was all good until the finish line! The course was picturesque and the marshalling was brilliant. However, it quickly changed after the finish line… no clear signs or direction. I a tumbled across the water and fruit being handed out and then after asking about the medal collection, was directed to the far side of the field to collect it. Not something my legs were overly thrilled about, more walking! Once over there it was total carnage and a lot of annoyed people as seemingly you had to queue in alphabetical lines to collect a medal after giving your name, but none of this was clearly communicated. It was taking ages, in the heat, with everyone aching from just running the event. At every other event I’ve done it’s always been a slick process that as soon as you cross the line you are handed a medal and your various post race goodies before you even leave the funnelled area. Not made to walk to other areas and queue for things with minimal direction or info. Apparently it was due to the fact some people had and hadn’t opted to pay for the medal. Just make it easier next year and include the medal in the event price and hand them out at the finish line like all the other events do. I will book again as it’s a nice event, I just hope that change up the process at the finish line
