The Medal Madness – Winter 2026

Sun 6th December 2026

A wooden cutout of a forest scene with trees and a bear, held in a person's hand. The carved text below reads "RASSELBOKK Adventure Race 2021." A blurred green leaf background is visible. A serene lake surrounded by lush, green trees under a partly cloudy sky. Swans and ducks swim peacefully on the water's surface, which reflects the greenery and parts of the blue sky. Tall grass lines the front of the image, enhancing the natural, tranquil scene. A hand holds up a decorative ornament featuring a historical portrait of a child dressed in elaborate, regal attire within an ornate frame. The background of the image is blurred, with a hint of a computer screen showing windows open. A picturesque landscape showcasing a well-maintained green lawn leading to a historic brick tower partially hidden by dense trees. The scene is under a dramatic cloudy sky, with autumn leaves on trees adding vibrant colors to the image. An array of colorful race medals and bibs spread on grass. Medals feature various designs, including butterflies, trees, and text such as "Headstock Run" and "B940." Lanyards of different colors are attached to the medals. A peacock butterfly with vibrant blue, red, black, and tan eyespots on its wings rests on a green leaf. The detailed pattern is striking against the lush foliage, highlighting the butterfly's intricate and colorful design. A serene forest scene with a dirt path winding through tall trees and dense foliage. The forest floor is covered with vibrant bluebells in full bloom, creating a carpet of purple flowers under the lush green canopy. Sunlight filters through the leaves, creating dappled shadows. A collage of runners with medals, race bibs, and merchandise at the Rasselbock Running event. It features various individuals posing proudly, a close-up of a medal, a table with race items, and the Rasselbock Running logo. A collage shows two women in Halloween-themed running gear, a variety of "The Pierrepont Plod" medals, and two more people holding their medals, all outdoors in sunny weather. Collage of images from "The Pierrepont PLOD" event. Includes a medal with a kayaker design, a participant posing with arms outstretched, a woman holding the medal, a scenic path, and an outdoor gathering with tents and banners.

Organiser's Description

Join us for our winter edition as you help us find a home for any leftover medals that we have!

We hate having waste, especially when it comes to medals. We try in the first instance to not order more than we need, but despite accounting for everything we still have no shows on event days which means they cannot earn their medal. So, to try and find homes for these leftover medals we are holding a medal madness event to end out the year at Shipley Country Park.

The entry fee will be smaller as we do not have to order medals for the event. The setup will be the same as our 6-hour runs and once you finish you shall receive a random medal from our collection.

The aim for our events is to organize races as if I was taking part, so you can expect amazing support, the best medals, and a small group of runners that is never any more than 150. Think of it as a small group of friends and family all coming together for an amazing day of running!

There is a time limit of 6 hours for this event. This means that you need to have completed your final lap before the end of the 6 hours for it to be counted towards your final distance. Each lap will be 5.59km long with a total elevation gain of just 80 meters for each loop. This means that if you complete 4 laps you have run a half marathon, 8 laps, a full marathon and 9 laps or more will be classed as an Ultra. You can finish your event at any time within the six hours, and as long as you have completed one lap then you will be classed as a finisher.

Venue Opens: 8am
Race Registration: 8.15am
Pre-race briefing: 8.55am
Start Time: 9am

Very well organised, great, welcoming team and the drinks and treats at the end were needed and appreciated. The terrain was very tricky given the weather recently. I found the course quite difficult given this. Views were beautiful though.

Wow, this was my first Rasslebock event and it was amazing 🙌 The team are brilliant and super friendly. The weather was a bit pants but I suppose that just adds to the fun (if you like mud) I will definitely be running more events with Rasslebock Running👌👍👏

My second event with Rasselbock Running and they didn't disappoint! Love the endurance loop format and the routes they create are always interesting - technical, sceneic, mix of terrains, hills, shade and open spaces - important when doinf several loops at each event! This one was hillier than others, but a nice equal balnace of 'what goes up must come down' - thanks for another great event guys!

This was the first time my wife and I had done an event like this. She hadn't run much in the past and I had only run shorter distances. We felt extremely welcome. The event was well organised, the route was interesting and the people was really friendly. The range of sweets and snacks at the aid station was very much appreciated. We both ran further than we'd ever ran before and were both euphoric afterwards.
