Organiser's Description

The 5k is an achievable distance and a good first challenge for most people. At just over 3 miles it can take about an hour to walk on average, but there's no pressure to finish in a certain time. Go at your own pace to help fund life-saving cancer research.

How to Get There

Pedestrians: Access the main event site via the internal road,just after Garon Park/ Leisure centre car park. Take the path to the right hand side, go past the 3Gfootball pitches and straight ahead towards the showground which will be on your right hand side.



General Event Parking: Parking is FOC and located in Redgra Playing Fields, Eastern Avenue, SS2 4FA which is a short walk to Garon Park showground. Please note that parking is limited so we ask that participants utilise local transport links where possible.



Blue Badge Parking: Blue badge parking is available in the Leisure Centre Car Park, SS2 4FA which is a short walk to Garon Park showground. Please note that this is separate from the designated participant/ spectator parking area.



Drop Offs: Participants can be dropped off in the Leisure Centre Car Park.



Public Transport:



Bus: First Bus provide a number of services which drop off on Eastern Avenue which is a 5 minute walk to the main event site.



Train: Nearest train station is Southend Central which is 3 miles to the main event site.



Electric Charging points: There are currently no electric charging points on site. The closest charging point is Shell on Eastern avenue which is 1 mile away.



Cycling Bike Racks:There are16 bike racks available near the Garon Park entrance. Bike locks can be hired from the Pitch side Café.

Further Information

The event site and the majority of this two lap couse is entirely on grass. Wheelchair users with assistance may want to take part, but it is a challenging surface and can be very hard going, especially if the ground is wet.
