The course is a nice flat, fast run along the waterfront.

Course Details

Please note the course is path and we recommend road running shoes for this event - The course is flat - 5k turns back on itself at the 2.5k point and the 10k turns back on itself at the 5k point - half marathon does an initial 1.1k out and back towards Hampton/Herne Bay before coming back past the start / finish to do the full 10k section twice - buggies are ok - wheelchair friendly - note the course may be altered at any point up to event day if necessary

How to Get There

The event hub is based at Herne Bay and parking is available as below. Please note the carpark is limited in space so try and park on Hampton Pier Avenue to help avoid congestion.

Follow signs for Herne Bay and then follow directions to street address shown above. Once on Hampton Pier Avenue, you will see children’s play area and the free public car park (spaces are limited to 200 cars) on Swalecliffe Avenue which is directly opposite the event hub.

Herne Bay railway station is the closest and around a 10-15 minute walk

Enjoyable half marathon along the seafront towards Tankerton. Almost completely smooth and flat along the concrete path, apart from a surprise small hill climb before the turn back towards Herne Bay. Nice atmosphere and friendly vibe. Only one water station, but well managed by the friendly volunteers. Be aware that the race route is not closed off, so you will be encounter, walkers and dogs along the route. Only downside was the windy weather which meant a strong headwind on the outbound part of the route. I did a wind assisted inbound 5k PB so won't complain too much! Nice medal at the end, plus water and lollipops!

A Great event with very kind organisers. A good route for beginners with seaviews for peace of mind. Parking is ideal .. Look forward to the next running event soon.

I wasn't quite last and was suffering with a chest infection. If I hadn't been running for Alzheimer's UK I would have stayed at home, but thanks to race support guys and gals and the friendly runners I achieved my goal and thereby raising money for my charity. Thank you all.

Nice Starter 10km. Enjoyable organised run along the sea path. Good for those trying for PB's but equally as good for those who are doing some of their first 10km's. Easy parking, if you're there early, and a no fuss event.
