Do you have any age restrictions / can children take part?

Absolutely! We typically allow children of all ages to take part in all our events (unless specific information is given for a set event). Please note that children remain the responsibility of their parents/guardian throughout our events. If the parent/guardian is satisfied the child/children can confidently run 5k or 10k unaccompanied they may do so, with a parent/guardian remaining onsite at all times.

Can I run with a buggy?

Yes this is typically ok for most locations however please check the run route course as some locations can be a mix of path, trail, grass so not always suitable for running with a buggy. Also please try and stay to the left as much as possible to give room for other runners. (this is allowed at running events but not triathlon, please see last faq for more info)

Can I walk / do you have a cut off time to complete the event in?

We typically have a cut off time of 1.5 hours to complete the 5k/10k races from when the event starts. 3 hours for half marathons. Walking part of a 5k event is typically fine but the 10k races are mostly for running (with a bit of walking/jogging if necessary!). If doing a virtual run you have the luxury of completing your event anytime, anywhere and for however long throughout the given event period!

Can I wear headphones?

Yes we do allow this but please note it is your responsibility to make sure you can hear what's going on around you when running, including marshals and general public. Please keep the volume at a level whereby you can hear any important announcements that may be made. (this is allowed at running events but not triathlon, please see last faq for more info)

the event

The 5k and 10k Winter Warmer Run starts at 10am and the half marathon will start at 9am.

Please note that the the 5k and 10k are being set off together. We ask that faster runners come in first to the start line and we will do our best to call in runners by predicted time. Please help us as much as possible as this will help all runners be set in the right place at the start based on run pace.

There will be marshals around the course to support and encourage you.

Please take care when running around the course as this is public land and local residents will be out and about. Please always stay on the left unless otherwise guided.

If wearing headphones please make sure you can hear other people around you and marshal instructions.

Water will be available at the start and finish as well as at the 5k section for 10k runners. Please note we are working on being environmentally friendly as possible and will not have bottled water, only cupped water. If you require a bottle whilst running please do bring your own. Thank you.

after the event

Everyone will receive a medal and there are also a few trophies that are up for grabs.

Results will be displayed on our Results Base Timing screen so after crossing the finish line you can check out your instant results.

These go live to our website and you will receive an email update once the race is over.

Water and snacks will be available at the finish line along with any other goodies from our event partners.

Great event, well organised and brilliant course. Get there early for any chance of parking nearby and bring a pack of tissues as the toilets ran out of paper pretty quickly 🤣

Really great event for my first half. Friendly, well organised and terrific support from the marshals.

Well organised Marshals were positive and really supportive The route was good but my Strava and Fitbit both measured the distance at 13.7 not 13.1 Hated going over the wobbly bridge Medal at the end Beautiful never thought I would say didn’t buy the t-shirt but I did not because it was really bad quality and £20 Wonderful winter warmer thank you for an amazing event.

Really nice event, great location and staff organisers, will definitely be running this one again next year. Nice easy course with little elevation. Only downside if I had to pick any would be that there was some ‘traffic’ in narrow parts of the track which made it a little annoying when you’re running 4 abreast. Understandably little the organisers can do about this in a public space though.

This event was so well organised and had lovely people marshalling and running the stalls. Really great atmosphere and a lovely sized event. Lots of support offered. The route was well planned and was well sign posted. The event has made me want to do this every year as it was that enjoyable and will be lovely to look forward to. DEFINITE 5 STARS

Winter Warmer 5K, 10k & Half Marathon A chilly February day, There was a nip in the air. A park in our capital city, A run we would share. Distances that would challenge, Runners raring to go. Through beautiful scenery, And a famous rivers flow. In the shadow of a castle, Cold hands that would warm. Enthusiastic and energized, With the perfect running form. Laps would be covered, As lungs would get worked. Everyone a winner, Nobody shirked. A medal was waiting, On a morning so fine. We even had a penguin, As we crossed the line

Great, well organised, small event. If you're looking for a nice small event then this is definitely a good option, it is well organised and tick's all the boxes of what you require from a race. Although the event is on the small side, it still offers both a 5K and a 10K race and the routes are well marshalled. The 10K however, does mean a second loop of the course which can seem a chore but once you're on it, it's never as bad as you think it's going to be. It's a nice flat race in great scenery and with chocolate at the end.. what more could you ask for :)
