The event appears to be in a park, with trees and white tents in the background under a clear blue sky. A large group of runners in vibrant athletic attire are participating in an outdoor race on a sunny day. They are running along a grassy field surrounded by trees. Spectators and event tents are visible in the background. Trails of multicolored flags are also seen. A group of runners participating in a trail running event on a gravel path through a lush, green forest. The runners are at various stages of the race, with some smiling and others focusing intensely. Bright race bibs and clothing add color to the scene. A group of people stand on a stage, with runners in bibs numbered 400, 430, and more. The central figure in a black shirt and pink shorts appears to be leading an exercise or stretching routine. The setting suggests preparation for a running event or marathon. A group of runners gather and chat outdoors on a sunny day. One woman in a gray tank top and orange shorts holds a water bottle. Behind them, other participants and a fire truck are visible. The atmosphere appears lively and social. A woman with long blonde hair smiles while talking to a person wearing a cap. She is dressed in a sleeveless black top and is standing outdoors among a crowd of people, some of whom are dressed in athletic attire. The atmosphere appears to be sunny and lively. Runners at the starting line of a marathon, with bibs and athletic wear, sprinting forward on a grassy course. A cheerful crowd of participants and supporters is visible behind them, and colorful flags mark the start area on a sunny day. Close-up of runners' feet wearing various athletic shoes standing on a grassy and slightly muddy patch of ground, presumably waiting for the start of a race or event. The focus is on the legs and shoes, with the background blurred.

Organiser's Description

Join us in the Summer of 2025 as we return to the forest for the Rasselbock Marathon and Half Marathon in Sherwood Pines. It’s sure to be an incredible day in the forest as we welcome runners from all walks of life to hit their goals. Be it your first-ever Marathon, Trying for a new PB, or just wanting to be in the forest with friends, we have you covered.

This year we have three options for you on the day, the full and the half marathon, and for this year, introducing The Mini Rasselbock. The half marathon will be a beautiful 13.1-mile loop around the Sherwood Pines forest, and the full marathon will have you complete the loop twice. The trails and fire roads will take you around all areas of the forest, from those teaming with life to areas of blissful quiet.

The Mini Rasselbock is for those who are not quite ready to take on a Half Marathon, but still want to enjoy the beautiful location. An 8.6km loop taking on all parts of the official Marathon and Half loop.

The official route will be announced closer to the event but you can expect roughly 250m of elevation on each loop.

Both events will have very generous cutoff times, being 7 hours for the half marathon and 8 hours for the marathon, and 2.5 Hours for the Mini. We want to encourage people of all abilities to complete the challenge they want to complete

------------------

The start and finish line will be located in the area of the forest called the arena, and in the center will be the event village. When you return to the arena at the end of your run (and halfway through if you're taking on the marathon), you will run a loop around the full event village where you can expect support from everyone watching and waiting, as well as the event MC and DJ.

Within the event village, we will have the usual bag drop, information tent, and medic area for those who are running. Alongside this, you will find a selection of local food vendors and a bar, alongside small and local running businesses for you to visit. Expect an area full of games and pastimes near the stage where you can relax whilst you wait for your friends and family members to finish their run!

Beautiful surrounds for a fantastic marathon. Quite a fast course given the terrain. Organisers and volunteers were all brilliant, again Definitely back next year
Thanks for the review Jason. We do love working with feedback and we'd love to make the Marathon a five star event if you have any ideas on how we could do this.

A really well organised and friendly event. The event village was great for my supporters, including my toddler (thanks for letting him in the fire engine 😍) the snacks were great and the banter high. However, it is a tough course!! If you want a real challenge, this is for you, with a generous cut off time of 8 hours it was very inclusive.
