FAQs

  • What time does it start?

The event starts at 11am. Runners will start alongside similar paced runners in small groups to prevent congestion on the route.

  • How do I get my race number?

You can collect your race number on the day at Gatwick Aviation Museum from our Information Point which will open at 7:30am. Alternatively, you can also get ahead by collecting your runner number between Saturday 20 May again from Gatwick Aviation Museum - more details about this coming soon.

  • Are there pacers?

Yes, we have the fab Xempo pacers to help you achieve your target time. Choose from 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 & 70 minute targets.

  • Is there a time limit to complete in?

No, there is no time limit to complete the races and have your finish time recorded. However, please note that 2 hours after the start of the race our marshals will be stood down and normal rules of the road will apply. Bear in mind that you will have to walk and run on the pavements so please be careful of pedestrians. All runners are encouraged to continue running and every finisher will be chip timed. Any runner still on route will also be given the option of a ride back to the start / finish site if they’re unable to complete the distance.

  • Are wheelchair entries available?

YES! We have always had wheelchair athletes at our events, please just advise us of this when you register.

  • Are dogs/pushchairs allowed?

Yes, race pushchairs are allowed, but please be careful and considerate of other runners. Dogs, no, please leave your furry friends at home. Guide dogs excepting - obviously!

  • Is there water on the route?

There will be one water station along 10K/5K charity relay route. Additional water will be available to every runner at the finish line. Through our partnership with SES Water we will be using paper cups and eliminating 24,000 plastic water bottles. And all water will come exactly as it does at home, from a tap! If you prefer to drink from a bottle please bring one along as bottled water will not be available.

  • What time does the event start/close?

The event village will be open from 8am and close at 2pm.

  • Do you have a bag drop?

Yes we do, a free bag drop is available for all runners. Please note this will not be under cover so if the weather looks a bit rainy please bring a weatherproof bag.

5k charity relay

Entry to the 5K Charity Relay Race is FREE courtesy of Gatwick Airport but each pair of runners must commit to fundraise a combined minimum amount of £150 for The Magic Breakfast, providing healthy school meals to children at risk of hunger in disadvantaged areas of Crawley and West Sussex.

This will be strictly monitored (please see T&Cs). Entries are limited so book early to secure your place.

Excellent event, just wee before you get there.. Really well laid out route, nice Hill in the middle to mix things up. Event village was well stocked with a variety of stalls. Good to have celebs at the start. Warm up routine could have been better but who really does these. The start was a little confusing and a lot if people started their watches too soon. But not a biggie. My only gripe was the lack of toilets. There were many but just not enough for 5000 people, most of which need a wee before they run. Thank god for bushes if you a bloke. Really recommend this half marathon. Better than Brighton by a long way.
