Our 2026 edition of the Run Newcastle Valentines event takes place in the open surroundings of Newcastle’s Town Moor. The event takes place in the open surroundings of Newcastle’s Town Moor with an officially measured course and full Run Britain License. The traffic-free 5k course is on mainly tarmac paths around the Moor.
The half marathon is just over 4 laps of this flat and fast course, 10k 2 laps and 5k one lap.
We are supporting the charity LiveLifeGiveLife https://livelifegivelife.org.uk/- a charity supporting Organ donations. £1 from each T-Shirt sale will be donated to the charity. Unfortunately, due to UKA Rules and Insurance cover, runners are not permitted to run with headphones. Bone Conducting Headphone are permitted.

The half marathon had a great atmosphere, within all those participating in it. All the race marshall volunteers were fantastic and did a great job during the event.
However over a third of the course is on a mixture of dirt and gravel, which as a wheelchair user is very tough going and slowed me down considerably due to losing traction with my wheels a lot of the time whilst on that part of the course during the four laps done.
So I would not recommend this event for disabled wheelchair participants.
