Run Yorkshire Roundhay 5k/10k/Half

Sun 5th October 2025

Two vertical flags with the word "Runnation" flutter in the wind on a sunny day. They are positioned on a grassy area in front of an elegant, large building with multiple windows. The clear blue sky and slight shadows suggest it's either morning or late afternoon. A man and a woman stand in front of a "RUN NATION" sign at an outdoor event. The man is wearing a black shirt and shorts with bib number 491, while the woman is wearing a black shirt, pink knee-high socks, and bib number 42. Trees and a registration tent are visible in the background. A group of runners is actively participating in a park race event. They are wearing various running gear including numbered bibs pinned to their shirts. The race is taking place on a paved pathway surrounded by lush green trees and grass.

An expensive race for what it is - only get water and a medal for completion, and wasn’t the best organised. Start time was quite late so everyone stood in the cold for a while. Only the people at the front of the line up were told what to do around the course, so at the back you were left in the dark about what to do if you were planning on moving up quickly. Actual course was okay, apart from a very narrow section near a playground where mothers with prams were having to dodge runners. All members working were very nice and friendly though, and so were the crowd and other runners - which was lovely.

On the Run up to the event no information was distributed to runners. The route was changes significantly on the day with everyone finding out on the start line as we were all stood facing the wrong way. All kM markers pointless as they were in wrong place and not even in distance order. The run was conducted in an open park with normal visitors with dogs kids on bikes etc. Visitors complaining about runners, runners moaning about people in the way.runners runner

Event poorly organised. Start for the 10k was delayed and we started running in the middle of half marathon runners who had already started their run. No atmosphere at the start line. Had to wait for cups to be delivered to get a drink at the water station half way around the 10k race and 24 hours later still no chip timing available on run nation website. Won’t be booking another event with run nation. Worst 10k I have done.
