Organiser's Description

The Lee Valley VeloPark series offers you a chance to run a Half Marathon, 10 Mile, 10k, 5k or Mile, on this unique one mile Moto GP styled circuit. We also have a free kids' mile for you to bring any young ones along with you and make a day of it.

The Lee Valley VeloPark’s floodlit road circuit is the perfect course to test yourself over a new distance, or check your pacing, with each mile split chip timed for you to view after the race. As one of the London 2012 Olympic venues, you can’t help but feel inspired to give it your all on this course, and we are there to cheer you all the way round to the finish!!

How To Get There

We strongly recommend travelling by public transport to Lee Valley VeloPark, allowing plenty of time to get to the venue and please plan your journey ahead of your visit to check for any planned closures or engineering works.

By rail: Nearest station/tube: Stratford / Stratford International. Lee Valley VeloPark is a 20-minute walk from both stations. Stratford station is served by:

Underground: Jubilee and Central Lines

National rail: Abellio Greater Anglia for services to Liverpool Street and Essex and East Anglia

London Overground services: Stratford International station is served by DLR

National Rail: Southeastern High Speed 1 services to St Pancras International

By bus: Several bus routes connect to Stratford and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park with the key routes being: 388, 308, 339, 97 and N205 which all stop near Lee Valley VeloPark.

By car: Car parking at Lee Valley VeloPark is limited and we strongly advise travelling by public transport, however if travelling by car is essential we are situated 5 minutes from the A12 and blue badge holder spaces are available. Parking is no longer free at the VeloPark, please follow the signs to the parking machines and follow the instructions on the machine, otherwise you will receive a fine. You can also park at Westfield next to the Stratford international train station.

By bike: There are cycle routes connecting Lee Valley VeloPark to local residential areas as well as the cycle routes through Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The venue is close Sustrans National Cycle Network Route 1 and Barclays Cycle Superhighway CS2. Bike racks are available at the venue.

On foot: There are good pedestrian links to Lee Valley VeloPark from Westfield Stratford City, Hackney and Leyton.

Race Start Times

Half Marathon: 9.00am. (Strict 3 hour cut off)

10 Mile: 9.15am

5k: 9.45am

Mile (+ Free Kids): 10.00am

10k: 10.15am

Other Information

Baggage: We will have a secure area where you can leave your baggage. We have tear off baggage labels at the bottom of your race number that can be attached to your bag. To collect, all you have to do is hand over your number to the baggage tent staff and they will help you find your belongings.

Refreshments: There is a water station at the end of every lap, and you will be able to enjoy fruit and flapjacks after the race. There is also a cafe on site.

During the race: The course is a closed off 1 mile loop. 3 laps for 5k, 6 for the 10k, 10 for the 10 mile and 13 for the half marathon.

Spectators: There are multiple points around the race track to watch the runners and cheer friends and family on.

Results: Results will be available on www.runthrough.co.uk after the race.

Pictures: We will have a photographer taking a few snaps of the race and they will be on Facebook after the race so be sure to check it out and see if you can spot yourself.

Faqs

What is the minimum age to enter an event?

11 years old for a 5k, 15 years old for a 10k and 17 years old for Half Marathon.

I can't make the event, can I have a refund?

Sorry, we don’t offer refunds. However, if you let us know 14 days in advance of the event we can transfer your entry to a friend or to a later event.

When will I receive more information about the event?

You will receive all race information, via email, in the week leading up to the event. For a weekend event you will receive it by Wednesday, and for a mid-week event, you will receive it by Monday.

Will I receive anything through the post?

No, nothing is posted. You will receive all race information by email and you will collect your race pack on the day of the event.

Do we collect our Timing Chip and Race Number on the day of the event?

Yes, that is correct. Please make sure you arrive at least 45 minutes before the race start so you have plenty of time to collect them.

Where can I find my results after the event?

Your results will be live on the website www.runthrough.co.uk during the event. If you have any questions or queries with your results please email [email protected]

Am I allowed to wear headphones?

We’d strongly advise against it – the nature of the events means that you need to be aware of your surroundings and be able to hear marshals instructions.

How do I collect my RunThrough kit order?

RunThrough kit can be collected at any event. Simply head to the kit stall and pick the size and colour you want at the time of collection. If you have any further questions, please contact us at [email protected].
