Organised by Channel Events, this award-winning trail running adventure invites participants to experience the magic of running under the stars in Europe’s first Dark Skies Reserve. With two exciting race distances of 5km and 10km, runners will navigate the stunning high moorland trails between North Hill and Bossington Hill, including the scenic Selworthy Beacon.
Registration opens at 18:15, with the 10km race starting at 19:25 and the 5km race following shortly after at 19:30. Selworthy Stargazer, (formerly part of the Dark Skies Series) is back!
The Gold awarding winning Selworthy Stargazer returns as part of the Exmoor National Park ‘Dark Skies Festival’ which celebrates Exmoor being the first Dark Skies Reserve in Europe. We’ve teamed up with our friends and fellow Caremoor Business Champions , Really Wild Coffee to bring back this classic race!
Grab your head torch and trail shoes to join us for an epic trail running adventure high on the Exmoor Coast under the cover of darkness and a sea of stars!
Comprising of 5km and 10km route options, the Selworthy Stargazer utilises the stunning high moorland on the Exmoor Coast between North Hill and Bossington Hill and includes summiting Selworthy Beacon. Thanks to Exmoor National Park and the National Trust we’ve created a 10km loop with a cut across at the midpoint to create a 5km option also!
This course is undulating but on good trails and tracks with a couple of more technical sections thrown in for good measure. If the weather allows, you’ll be treated to starlit skies while running within Europe’s first Dark Skies Reserve.
Registration will open at 18:15, 10km starts at 19:25 and the 5km starts at 19:30.
As part of our drive to make our events waste free we have chosen to make the medal an optional extra, those who love their race bling can purchase theirs when entering but must enter at least 1 week prior to race day.
Our locally made bespoke wooden finisher's medals are available as an optional extra to minimise waste, if you want one to show your efforts, make sure you pop one in your basket when entering!
Please note: Online entries close 2 days prior to event day. Depending on entry numbers, we may offer on the day entries. The 'on the day' entries will be entry only and WON'T include the option to purchase a medal.
We are committed to removing waste from the events industry and only order medals from our local supplier for those who have entered each event before the main online entries close.
If you would like a medal for your efforts, please commit and get entered early. All of our medals are dated with the year, we firmly believe that a medal should be a momento of the event you've completed and you'll never find us giving out the same medals year on year.
