Get ready for an exciting adventure at the Summit 2 Sea - The Offa's Dyke Half Marathon, organized by Out-Fit Events. Taking place on Sunday, 13th April 2025, this unique race will start at the summit of Moel y Parc and follow the Offa's Dyke National Trail all the way to the coast, finishing on the beach at Prestatyn. Covering a distance of 13.8 miles with over 2450ft of ascent, this challenging course offers stunning views and a memorable experience. With a generous 5-hour cut off time, the event is suitable for both runners and fit walkers. There will be 2 feed stations along the route, and the National Trail is well-marked for easy navigation. Registration will be at the Prestatyn Nova Centre, with a bus available to take participants to the starting point. Organiser's Description
The Spring race involving summit and sea, we will be going 'Summit 2 Sea' - and the Half Marathon (ish - it's 13.8 miles) will see runners gather on the summit of Moel y Parc and follow the Offa's Dyke National Trail to the coast and finish line on the beach at Prestatyn. Though starting at over 1300ft above sea level, and finishes at sea level - do not expect an easy course! In fact - you'll get through over 2450ft of ascent. A generous cut off of 5hrs (2hrs 20mins at 11km) means that it is an event accessible to runners, but also fit walkers.
There shall be 2 feed stations along the way of this hilly course and the National Trail is extremely well marked. Registration shall take place at the finish point - the Prestatyn Nova Centre, and a bus (bookable at extra cost nearer race day) can take all competitors to Bodfari before a 'warm up walk' of around 45 minutes takes us to the top and a quite unique start line!
The event shall be electronically timed for quick results and entry includes a complimentary hot drink at the Cafe at the finish.
