Organiser's Description

This fantastic 5K route is a great opportunity to explore the home of two 30-metre high horses! The Kelpies are mythical creatures who love to play at dusk, each one weighs over 300 tonnes. Come and immerse yourself in a light journey with them.

The Supernova 5K event is the perfect way to get involved in a timed 5K with your family and friends, whilst taking in the atmosphere and fun.

Events take place on both Friday 14th March and Saturday 15th March at 8pm.

Course Details

Take a beautiful and iconic venue such as The Kelpies, wait until dusk, get the family together (and we mean everyone – grandparents, uncles, aunties, parents, kids, friends!), dig out the fluorescent clothing and grab everything and anything that glows or flashes. Then set off on a Supernova 5K!

The Supernova Kelpies event is the perfect way to get involved in a timed 5K with your family and friends, whilst taking in the fantastic atmosphere and having lots of fun! Starting & finishing within Helix Park, this beautiful route allows runners the rare opportunity to run alongside the iconic Kelpie sculptures, which are lit up and change colour at dusk to create a beautiful spectacle for participants and spectators alike!

How to Get There

Walk
The event starts at Helix Park. Your Event Information Pack will give you a map of the area so you can work out the walking options available to you from where you are travelling from.

Public Bus
First Bus services 2, 3, and 4 stop at the bus stop on Falkirk Road next to the Falkirk Football Stadium, this bus stop is a short walk from the Start/Finish area. Bus timetables can be viewed by visiting the First Bus website. Each of these bus routes run from Falkirk Bus Station which is in the town centre and a short walk from Grahamston Train Station.

Train
The nearest train station to the Start/Finish is Falkirk Grahamston, which is around 1.5 miles from Helix Park. Timetables can be viewed by visiting the ScotRail webpage.

Parking

Car parking is available at Falkirk Stadium, FK2 9EE, a short walk from the start/finish area. Some limited on-street parking may be available nearby, please plan your journey accordingly to give yourself enough time to reach the start/finish area. Please note, the car parks within Helix Park will be closed on event day, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PARK IN HELIX PARK OR THE KELPIES. Disabled/Accessible parking is available in the Falkirk Stadium car park, in the pre-marked bays.
