This adventurous event offers participants a stunning introduction to Swimrun races in the breathtaking Lake District National Park. Starting at Windermere, racers will make their way to Tweedies Bar in Grasmere village, tackling trail running and open water swims in Coniston, Windermere, Rydal Water, and Grasmere along the way. Organiser's Description

A beautiful introduction to Swimrun adventure races through the beautiful and rugged scenery of the Lake District National Park.

Starting on the shore of Windermere you'll be racing to Tweedies Bar in Grasmere village. To get there you will be trail running and taking on open water swims through Coniston, Windermere, Rydal Water and Grasmere.

You'll run in your wetsuit and swim in your trainers.

Course Details

This is a perfect intro to Swimrun for anyone wary of long runs or cut-off times.

Starting at Wray Castle Jetty the course follows forestry tracks, trails and paths along valleys and over passes in the midst of some stunning and varied Lakeland scenery and of course there are swims in 3 different lakes.

Our Short course is 12.7km in total with 10.8km of running and 1.9km of swimming across 3 separate swims - the longest of which is 780m.

You'll have plenty of time to enjoy yourself and the views with over 6 hours to complete the swims and runs - which could easily be walked with plenty of time to spare!

What's Included

We'll provide you with briefings, transport from the meeting point to the race start, nutrition, hydration, marshals, water safety cover, medical cover and bio security measures.

How to Get There

Either by car or train and then bus services.

Parking

Parking is available in Grasmere village and race participants should be early enough that parking will be easily available.

Location

The meeting point is at Tweedies bar in Grasmere, where transport will be provided to take you to the race start at Wray Castle Jetty on Windermere.
The race finishes back at Tweedies bar.
