what is adventure racing?

Adventure Racing (often called expedition racing) is a multi sport event generally in off-road settings.

Think of it as a timed treasure hunt where racers locate checkpoints on a course that is only revealed just before the race starts.

RUN
Predominantly trail running on a variety of surfaces, often including some mud.

Achievable ascents and descents may be included as part of the challenge. Running shoes with a good grip are recommended.

BIKE
Mixed terrain from road, and tracks to forest trails and some climbs.

A well maintained mountain bike is recommended. Gravel bikes and e-bikes* are also options.

Families can also use trailer bikes or child seats.

SPECIAL STAGE
Adventure Races are designed to keep you guessing and keep you on your toes.

Some of our challenges will involve water sports such as kayaking or paddle boarding (this will be advertised in the race description at sign up).

Others may have surprise special stages. All equipment will be provided.
