Celebrate one of Britain’s most recognisable ceremonial occasions with The Running Bug’s Trooping Trot Virtual Race 2027.

Inspired by Trooping the Colour, this special virtual challenge combines running, walking and British pageantry. Choose your distance, complete your challenge wherever suits you and earn an exclusive commemorative finisher medal.

The virtual event takes place across 12 and 13 June 2027. The King’s Official Birthday celebrations are scheduled for Saturday 12 June 2027, making it the perfect weekend to take on your Trooping Trot.

Celebrate Trooping the Colour Your Way

Trooping the Colour is the annual military ceremony marking the Sovereign’s official birthday. The traditional event features more than 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians, with the parade travelling between Buckingham Palace, The Mall and Horse Guards Parade before concluding with an RAF flypast.

With the Trooping Trot, you don’t need to be in London to join the occasion.

Whether you’re in Yorkshire, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland or further afield, simply choose your challenge and complete it at a location that works for you.

Choose Your Distance

Make the Trooping Trot as accessible or challenging as you want.

You can choose:

1K – ideal for beginners, families or walkers
5K – a classic running or walking challenge
10K – perfect for anyone wanting to step things up
10 Miles – a great endurance goal
Half Marathon – 13.1 miles
Marathon – 26.2 miles

Run it, walk it, jog it or use a combination of all three. There is no requirement to be fast and no traditional race-day cut-off.
