Join us for a challenging 17-mile+ route from Southease to Alfriston and back, designed as a training run for UK Ultra events. While this event is designed for those entering one of the UK Ultra events, this run is suitable for all those looking to build their mileage and experience on trails.


Route Highlights:


Start at Southease: Kick off your run near to the picturesque village of Southease, surrounded by the natural beauty of the South Downs National Park. Take a moment to absorb the historic charm before venturing onto the trail.


South Downs Way: We follow the renowned South Downs Way, a well-maintained trail that offers spectacular views of undulating hills and expansive countryside. Challenge yourself on varied terrains that mimics the demands of ultra-distance events.


Firle Beacon: Conquer the ascent to Firle Beacon, the highest point on the route, and relish the panoramic views. Perry will provide guidance on pacing and technique to help you navigate this challenging section.


Alfriston: Arrive in the delightful village of Alfriston, known for its medieval charm. Take a break to explore the historic streets and replenish your energy at local cafes before the return journey.


Cuckmere River: Run along near the Cuckmere River, enjoying the refreshing change of scenery. Tips on managing fatigue and maintaining form will be provided along the route. We follow the route back passing Camp Hill and head up and around the top of Seaford Golf Club.


We continue the loop back to Southease: celebrating your training run amidst the stunning South Downs backdrop. This training run provides valuable experience for aspiring ultra-distance runners.
