Organiser's Description

Join us on Saturday 17th October for the Chatelherault Trail Event, set within the stunning surroundings of Chatelherault Country Park. With its historic estate, woodland trails and dramatic river views, Chatelherault provides a spectacular setting for an unforgettable autumn run.

This trail event takes runners off the paths and into nature, combining flowing woodland trails with varied terrain and gentle climbs that reward effort with beautiful scenery. Perfect for experienced trail runners and those new to off-road racing alike, the course offers a challenging yet accessible route through one of Scotland’s most scenic parks.

Expect excellent organisation, clear course marking and a friendly trail-running atmosphere throughout. Whether you’re chasing a late-season challenge or simply enjoying the colours of autumn underfoot, the Chatelherault Trail Event is a must for anyone who loves running in the great outdoors.

5k and 10k loop around the stunning Chatelherault Country Park

What's Included

Your entry includes everything you need for a fantastic race experience at Chatelherault Country Park. All participants will receive a professionally organised and fully chip-timed event, with accurate results and finish times available shortly after the race.

Runners can expect a scenic and fully marked course through the beautiful country park surroundings, along with friendly marshals, water stations, medical support, music, and a welcoming event atmosphere throughout the day. Every finisher will receive a medal at the finish line, along with post-race refreshments.

Before race day, participants will receive a detailed event information pack containing timings, travel and parking guidance, course maps, and all key race instructions to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience from arrival to finish line.

How to Get There

Chatelherault Country Park is located in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, and is easily accessible by public transport, car, bike, or on foot. The event village and start/finish area will be based within the park grounds, offering a scenic and welcoming atmosphere for runners and spectators alike.

By Train: The nearest train station is Chatelherault Station, located just a short walk from the country park and connected to Glasgow and surrounding areas.

By Bus: Regular local bus services operate throughout Hamilton and nearby areas, with stops located close to the park entrances.

By Car: Chatelherault Country Park can be accessed easily via the M74 and surrounding road networks. Onsite parking is available; however, spaces may be limited during busy periods, so participants are encouraged to arrive early and consider car sharing where possible.

By Bike & Foot: The park is connected to local walking and cycling routes, making active travel a convenient option for nearby participants. Bike parking will be available within the event village area.

Please allow additional travel time on race day and follow all event signage and marshal instructions on arrival.

Parking

Free onsite parking is available at Chatelherault Country Park; however, spaces may be limited during busy periods and event peak times. Participants are encouraged to arrive early and consider car sharing where possible.

Please follow all parking signage and marshal instructions on arrival and avoid parking in restricted areas or blocking access routes within the park and surrounding roads. Additional parking may be available in nearby areas if the main car parks reach capacity.
